what are the main things to look out for Enz so you dont buy a lemon.

I have read in many places that on the whole it is an outstandingly good car with excellent build quality throughout...
Here are a few points, some are just common sense...
* Service history - essential to give an accurate picture of the quality of maintenance.
* Gerabox - probably one of the best meaty changes, however early 97/98 cars 'may' have a problem selecting 1, 2, 3
* Trim - electric seats normally ok, but should be checked
- the seat outer beading goes a little wavey on cars with 30k plus miles
- Steering wheel adjustment should lock tight
- Glove box compartment rattle (bottom pivot screw lost)
* Wheels - magnesium, they are hygroscopic and absorb water, wheel refurb is quite usual.
* Engine - cam seals prone to weeping and leak oil onto timing belt
- water leaks in the 'V'
- oil pressure should pick up instantly on startup
Paintwork - minor flaking on the radiator shroud is quite common
- also minor cosmetic aluminum corrosion under the bonnet is quite usual.
Steering rack - 30k plus...start to get play which requires refurb
Undertray - damage, or louvers cut by dealers to get to drain plugs etc instead of removing the whole tray...(shame on you!)
cats - usual
Recalls - ensure they have been carried out.

Done a bit of home work there Enz...Just need to get the cheque book out now mate.

Yes indeed...
Will be selling or PXing the QP when the time is right...so want to get her into A1 condition before I do.
On my list are:
- Few minor dings to be sorted
- rear wheel impact area stone chips to be sorted
- Protective film to be applied
- Wheels refurbished

There's always this one , all done and change from £20K i should imagine , i reckon that will go for around £16K looks a pre accident minter with excellent service history and the extra's kit , and best of all it seems like its been looked after by Emblem so you could find out the history quite easily

Loz...you have hit the nail right on the head...
My favorite combination of dark blue with light interior, and it is piped which is a bonus!
The interior looks fabulous.

Enzo.
