Here is some very alarming news unfortunately...............Israel have said that people who get the Pfiser vaccine and only get one dose are only protected 33%. Not the 89% that British government are relying on. They can't comment on the Astra Zenica vaccine. Pfiser always said three weeks between vaccine doses and seems we have just screwed over an awful lot of people.
Well that puts a massive effing spanner in the works if true.

Not exactly a true reflection.

Had a call from my son earlier this evening and his partner who is a nurse has tested positive with her home testing kit and has a cough. She’s had a full test and waiting for the results.
Test came back positive. She feel fine and had the vaccine last Saturday so fingers crossed.

Looks pretty damming to me, they analysed the medical records of 200 thousand people............................
Clalit, Israel's largest healthcare provider, covering most of the population, compared the medical records of 200,000 vaccinated over-60s with the same number belonging to unvaccinated people.
For two weeks after the first dose, both groups tested positive for the virus at roughly the same rate.
But then those vaccinated started to show 33% fewer new infections than the others.
"This is very early protection," said Clalit chief innovation officer, Ran Balicher, who is also a public health professor advising the government.
And "already there is a 33% fall".
Infections continued to decline after that.
But there were too few for Prof Balicher to calculate by what percentage.

It’s true.
Look At Pfizer’s statement regarding 21 days.

“Pfizer said on Thursday, warning “there is no data to demonstrate that protection after the first dose is sustained after 21 days.”

It was never tested at any other 2nd dose time point.

So here in France on these news the R is 1.2 what is it in the UK ?
What news? From which lab comes this figure? Aside the fact that R as no proper definition, as can be per ex. the degree Farenheit per temperature, here in France the official data is delayed and incoherent. It is really pittyful. One can only say from what we get that at the moment we are walking on top of eggs .. Besides, if speaking of Eu ;), Italy, Netherland, Germany are doing better, alas not Spain!

the studies that gave the 33% and 89% results are not measuring the same thing.

Do you think this was just a coincidence?

Just seen on the news that even though we are in a Lockdown, infection rates are going up in some areas!

They have highlighted those areas being in significant deprivation, AND (so not to compare the two) areas with high numbers of black, Asian and Ethnic minorities.

Anyone care to mention the elephant in the room?

It’s not really lockdown though is it? My brother told me there is no difference in the folks around compared with early December. That means a lot more people going about their daily business than in the spring lockdown. The roads are full. The streets are busy. So the news isn’t so surprising.
