I can't actually believe how affordable F12/F13 640d's are right now... for the looks, economy and torque I think they represent great value for money. My friend had one from new, recently chopped it in for a Porker (and yes, I did try and tempt him into a GranTurismo) - but loved it as his daily driver.

BTW - the rear seats aren't that bad. Seriously. If you want **** rear seats, try climbing into the back of an 'X100' XK8. I'm not the tallest at 5'8", and the 640d rear seats were deceptively bigger than I anticipated.

The rear seats would only be for my 2 year old anyway. So they only have to fit a car seat.

Make sure you check before you buy ... car seats can actually make rear legroom more of a problem for 2 reasons:

1 - booster seats raise the height of the child (and move them forwards and, as most people, have their front seats inclined rather than bolt upright this reduces space
2 - children tend to have straight legs when in car seats (rather than bending at the knees) like a taller passenger

+1. Years ago when I had the 645i we were at this stage and had a French Au Pair who was a lot larger than the imagine in most people's minds. She struggle to get in the front passenger seat of the Beemer with child behind...

Suppose it depends how big the people in the front are. In my 645 my toe boys at 10 and 7 had no issues but then I am a short ****.
