I performed (somewhat inadvertently I should add) a perfect one point turn today. No Hand-brake required, no speed required, just a fooking great torquey engine, a mile of rubber and sheet ice as far as the eye can see.

I tell you what, the sound of a Maserati sporting Larini's slowly performing ice doughnuts in a housing estate doesn't half draw a crowd.

Oh and thank you to the lovely gentleman with the shovel. (come to think of it, he had an Italian accent! Bless)

Miles me and my mate went drifting earlier on B&Q car park, that was fun.

Hi Adam, Not so much fun in a housing estate with loads of parked cars and a crowd with fingers in their ears as the Larini's serenade them.

Oh have you realised our ghost poster has removed his thread from last night? Can't believe he though that was funny!

Regards, Miles.

ghost poster ?? missed that. fill me in

Brian Rob. Thought it would be funny to post on here just as his tenure comes to an end over the road. Can't remember the wording as I'm old and senile, but hopefully Adam will. Sadly (and much to my chagrin) I didn't mince my words.

I think I'll go find a quiet carpark to play dohnuts in tommorow as it's snowing again tonight. I tried to start the Mas earlier but I have the dreaded flat battery! :frusty6:

I thought I'd sorted the problem by removing the dead battery and 600 miles of cable with the tracker but it seems there is another drain to track down; possibly the navman?

Lov it.

My Alfa GT goes in for paint on Monday, so I am now in the GS as my daily driver for the next 2 weeks.

Apart from the playing, how have you all been finding the Masers in the snow?

Half an hour ago I'd have said very capable... but I just picked up my middle lad and his friend from a local park where they had been tobogganing and had to get a push out of the carpark! Foilled by a short slope of white packed snow about 1:20 slope it just wouldn't chug up it - dented ego :(

Payback for gettin leary in the carpark I guess...

On the M11 this morning it was an absolute pleasure; pack ice side roads by the 'outlaws' dropping the youngest one off was a bit of fun with some sideways action!!!

Ah... snow drifts!!!

Fully comp insurance...

Wonderfull thing gives you confidence. I used to do similar with the motorbikes back when I still had working knees! I'd wait till a couple of days had passed and all the jerks had crashed then I'd let the tyres down to about 5lbs and go play silly bu99ers!!! speedway style.

Mind you It was in these circumstances I came closest to death I've ever been on the A12 Ingatestone bypass in 1981 when I nearly ended up under 38 ton of artic! He came past so fast he blew my bike over on the black ice and the trailer sucked me under... I was saved by the ridge of snow to the outside lane as the trailer wheels brushed my ear!!!

Adam,

This is totally irresponsible - wonder if conditions are still good down there? I might pop to B&Q and give it a go in the Lexus :)

I remember a time when I was watching some kids in a Safeway car park in Manchester doing some drifting in an old Fiesta (I don't think it was theirs) and I thought it was quite funny until they started drifting a bit to close to my convertible Porker!

I dont know how much snow is there right now, the manager wasn't impressed with us though, we had been on there for about 30 mins before he decided to come over and b0llock us.

Nice avatar Si, when you take that picture?
