Hi Loz

The front kit components have been drawn up, I now need the drawings to be passed off so that I can order parts required.

The rear kit drawings are WIP at the moment, so again parts need to be finalised then ordered. It's all moving along in the grand scheme of things here along with dozens of other projects. Just keep in touch and I'll give you regular updates.

Regards

Pete

Hi Loz

Sorry it's taking a long time but we have a massive workload going through design at the moment!

Good news, the components drawings are complete now, see models.

The rear APR set up will retain the standard disc as we do on BMW M3 installations. Reason being, the OE rear disc is more than adequate for the installation (see photo). Changing it to an APR 2-piece type wouldn't save any weight because it would still use an iron bell centre due to the park brake drum! What an APR disc would do is add more cost to the kit and for very little gain (that will come from the calipers larger piston and pad area. So we should save approx £700 on the list price of the rear kit retaining this OE part.

However it would be worth investing in a new set of Massa discs for the kit upgrade if yours appear worn or have covered more than 10,000 miles. What would they charge for them? We will add a drill pattern to the front discs so as to match the OE rears.

Note the front disc is floating type road car design, to improve service life on track events.

I'll get on and get the parts made and plan to fit them during May.

hard to believe it finally going to happen but it is

You are so right.
I don't normally take my laptop back to the hotel with me,
but hey...thought I would make an exception this weekend,
enjoy the GP.
Regards,
Enzo.
(ps, think red is a good choice).

Loz, you mention at the top of this thread that 4200 owners can bolt on all the plastic bits [boot spoiler, side-skirts, bumpers]. These are the bits I really DON'T like. To me they spoil the pure lines of the car.
Not for me then - but each to his own!

Totally agree John , no point in doing stuff for others to look at , its got to be a personal thing , gransport was concieved as it is and considered by most an improvement on already sorted 4200 , but for me the slightly agressive lines of the gransport design do it justice and go hand in hand with the mechanical and suspension tweaks , even down to the bootlip spoiler, front and rear metall grills , instead of plastic

Well its finally happened , after some agonising months waiting for more big brake installation dates to be cancelled due to unforseen F1 commitments im here , actually sitting in the conference suite of AP Racing drinking their coffee , using their wireless internet (m which i might add keeps going squiffy ) tho it could well be my old sony vaio , anyway Pete Collen just came in and informed the fronts are done , thats taken them 1hr 20 mins for both sides , and now there starting the rears , I was really impressed with the way that they have developed the upgrade system in kit form , with self expalnatory instruction booklet and new Discs, Callipers, Pads, braided lines and racing fluid , all the necessary to make for an easy and quick upgrade , cant wait for the test drive later , i'll post some pics as soon as im back in MK , forgot to bring the camera so it'll be ones taken on my phone
