Ooh, they do look good. It'll be interesting to hear how much they improve braking once bedded in.

Didn't get chance Miles over the weekend to clock up as many miles as i wanted around 30 i think , Cars in at Marranello on Wednesday morning so by the time i get home in the afternoon , they should be truly bedded in ,:thumb: thats idf i can get home without someone hitting me up the rear hehehe

Well true enough , just got back from Marranello's , window adjusted and now got 100% perfect seal , brakes well and truly bedded in now , they are brilliant and still getting sharper , so confident now slowing from 80/90 down to 30 ish at the slightest touch , re-learning the pressure difference i have to apply , forgot several times as i approached MK and ended up at the seat belt limit , god there good , and still better to come by all accounts

Checked all the weights last night , bigger callipers, bigger discs and im virtually 2kg lighter on each corner of unsprung weight so that helps a bit , getting more positive every trip

Bad news is ive started losing gears on the odd occasion when changing down quickly , spoke with the tech and definately time to get that clutch done , its just a matter of time before it goes completely , not wanting the enevitable fate of unreliabilty its going in shortly , followed by a full geo

Great news on the brakes Loz...keep us posted,
the clutch issue has been on the horizon for quite some time now, so no surprise there!
hope you get it all sorted,
Regards,
Enzo.

Cant wait for the clutch to be done now , will be so good to be able to hammer it a little , think ive been treating her too gentle for too long compensating for a clutch on the limit, then it has to be the DBW once ive assessed how diffeernt the old girl is ,

Just got my DBW. Opened the box and saw at least a million wires that need to be attached. Scared the flock out of me. Okay that may be a slight exaggeration but I'm still in a cold sweat.

I thought it would be expensive. I was right on at least that point.

All this clobber is stage one: Mechanics. Stage two is bodywork and interior, but that's for the new year I think. Definitely want her looking pristine for our Italian adventure next September. Thinking I'll add some decals for that also.

Hoping to make the most of the Summer season next year. Feel like I missed a couple of good ones this year, and with the dark nights drawing in I'm already casting my mind forward to next years meets. Note to self, get a diary and actually do some forward-planning.

Look at it this way Dem , the car is on just over 45K and on its first clutch , the later clutches seemed to have worn far better , several have reached similar mileages , we now know that the electronic % test isnt that accurate and its my belief even with that they have built in a fair safety margin, and loads of clutches will have been swapped out when there was a good 10-15K miles left in them , being the sceptic that i am preferred to wait untill the symptoms actually proved that it needed changing

Agreed Loz you almost get the feeling Maserati use this to sell you a new clutch when it's not necessary.

If it ain't broke don't fix it!

surely they cant do this, if they are useing an electronic instrument it has to be acurate other wise they are in breach of the weights and measures act.
