An interesting proposal Loz, if you can guarenteed selling alll the tickets nad likewise reasure the maximum numbers. All that remains is the integrity of the draw... I cannot think of better odds in a draw than 200:1 for such an exclusive prize! I'd have one or more tickets I think.

Has anyone ever entered a car raffle that you see at airport lounges, does anyone ever know anyone thats won one

Just wondered what the response might be if i was to raffle of my car at the xmas do , say 200 tickets at a £100 a pop , could make for an interesting night

regards loz
A client of mine won 5 cars in the Bahrain airport special raffle!!! He's a great guy, didn't really need em (he's minted anyway) so he sold 4 and kept the new Lexus 430 as it has a fab a/c which can be quite important when the temps hit 49degrees.
Cheers Wattie

Think I'd be tempted Loz!

On the issue of legality, I assume the reason "Best of the Best" is legal is that it's not a lottery per se, u have to do a spot the ball, hence the inclusion of a skill / choice makes it a competition and therefore "fair game"

I think if there is no skill involved, you need a license....which isnt worth the hassle. Throw in an elelement of skill (think 'Spot The Ball' or a question usually something like "What car am I raffling? Is it A) Maserati GranSport or B) A Banana?") and I think you make it a competion rather than a lottery.

Trouble it, what do you do if you dont sell 200 tickets? Give the money back?

Woody might be right, so a simple question to gain entry might be required.

Its a good idea and the forum is willing to back so that it is fairly done.

Loz, stick me down for a ticket, why not!

If the tickets fall short, say by £5k, you offer the winner the car for £5k or their £100 back, then draw it again, and so on...

I dont think you'd get away with that. I might be able to afford the £100 ticket, which could be seen as good value for a car. Its not quite such good vale for the opportunity to buy a car for £5k.

I'll have a serious think tonite about some precautiionary rules/guides , i want to make sure everything is fair and squeaky crytsal clear as it should and can be , sportsmaserati paypal holding account seems the way forward , so that money is held safe in one place , ready for return in the event that not enough tickets are sold , easy to set up an easy but skilful provisional question before entry is allowed ......huff huff

I reckon you'd sell 50 tickets fairly easily, but 200 would be far more hassle than simply selling the car through the usual channels. It's a great idea in principle, but in reality probably more hassle than it's worth.

I'm still having trouble with the math. 200 tickets at 100 quid is 20,000 isn't it? Is that all you are looking to get for the GS?
