Dan, I really enjoyed reading all of that, well done. Can you make us aware of the publication when it comes out as he is making a reference to our forum...first one in print I think.

Excellent write-up Dan, sounds like a very enjoyable one-off day.

I wonder if Richard came away thinking that he had made the right choice as well.....

Was Nick there with his car? He's a lovely guy & utter petrol head I had the pleasure of working on a number of his cars including the 512 and the Birdcage.

Lucky feller Dan; a day to treasure for life methinks...

Dan, what a day and opportunity...........Love the pics....When you see the first pic of the GT S and then the 612 in the same colour you realise just how a like they are......

Is it me or is the paint job for that F1 just wrong????? The MP4 looks real nice in Orange, i like the last pic a lot, the GTS and 612 do look a little similar.

It was a point of discussion as the pics were being taken actually, apparently it used to be red with black wheels and no decals, but for some reason it was changed to the GTS livery.

That was a very enjoyable read Dan. A great day captured in the retelling. I'll certainly be getting a copy and I'll read the commentary with interest.

Thanks Dan and of course the SportsMaserati forum for pointing Dan in my direction! I have mentioned the forum in the piece as a good source of help to find the best specialists, hopefully it gets through the sub editors.

The only GT-S bugbear on the day was the lack of lateral support from the driver's seat. Everything else about the Maser was wicked and Dan can pedal for sure. Great to see a man so connected to his machinery - what's the point of working to make money if you can't spend it on things that really excite you? Dan has got this nailed.

The car was up against a £220,000 new Ferrari and gave it an exceptionally hard time. Dan picked the right one for him and I picked the right one for me. Don't think it was easy; I guarantee you it wasn't, but what a way to make a living!! :D

Best regards all, many thanks for the support and enthusiasm.

Excellent John, hope the day was just as good for Autocar as it was for Dan and the rest of the guys.

As most of our owners are a little bit chubbier than Dan...lateral support aint as big an issue!!!!....;)

Looking forward to the 9th February edition,

Regards,

P

John, thanks for that. Re the lateral support, the GTS comes with Alcantar, not leather, but Dan, like myself, would insist upon leather, even if it does lead to 'oooh, slippy bum' if ever on a track, plus I suppose, its a tourer, so hugging race seats are not really applicable.

I look forward to the piece.

leather is how i would have it also, its not an out and out track car or raw like a lotus so alcantara will not be needed.....

John, sounds like a great article..looking forward to it.....I also find the Maserati seats lacking n support apart from the Gransport and Gransport MC Vicktory...But then I'm not a that big...
