GS Prices

Well done you..

I hope he did. It was beginning to annoy me that no-one had bought it yet, best value out there in my opinion.

These cars do have to sell at these prices to prove any point though. A couple of others have just seen price drops (with good reason again in my opinion, scruffy half-leather interiors and service history gaps for example so price needs to reflect).

Good news for me if I sell the house and move.

2006 LE with 11 services and a new clutch with 53k...should be close to £30k

Popped in to see Matthew at Giallo today and we discussed the GS he advertised yesterday. He's had a couple of calls already and expects it to sell quickly. Because of the GS's relative rarity I think they have been shortlisted as a "modern classic with investment potential". Matthew's car is in the right colours, LE, 2 owners, spotless, complete Maserati history etc. Apparently if it was in a different colour, such as grey, it would be priced lower.

AT add says 1 owner.
My preference would be for Blue but I still dont think its worth more than the Grey one from last week, with 16k miles on the clock. No mention of clutch wear on the add so assumption it may still be on 1st clutch which very quickly makes it a 41k car I guess.

Same dealer reducing their black GS by 2K has now also reduced a Med Blu example by £3K!

Both cars have been hanging around a while though and other GS have sold for more in the meantime but hopefully these prices now reflect (I have not viewed either car so cannot comment).

There are 3 Med Blu Cars for sale £25K - £25K - £31K so if the most popular colour you would think one of those cars would suit if the market is active.

Personally I think the GS looks great in any colour and would certainly favour other things such as full service history and condition over a certain shade.

There is no rhyme or reason in car prices these days. I'm not trying to talk the prices of GranSport down but how you can get a 3200 for a third of the price I don't know.

Made little effort to mate. Will probably keep it now as it's just too good. £20k car minimum to me....
It can't go anywhere further south so can only stay the same or go up so no issue holding onto if not too much hassle & you have the space to store.

Seems silly to sell it for buttons just because a buyer doesn't know they want it yet.

In the year since I bought my GS I have seen desirability for this model just keeps going up and up.
Scarcity seems to drive demand and prices.

Asset prices are also driven by bubbles. Agree that Maseratis' have been underpriced versus other desirable cars but this market as a whole is now struggling so the relative price gap can get closed the other way. No issue if you all are buying and keeping for the long term because you like the cars. Trouble is people have been piling into more exotic Italian cars purely as investments...this sort of thing normally ends with someone holding the baby.

I think its the bigger babies that may cause an issue...if I loose 20% in value on mine it is just back to what I bought it for...and if I had bought a new C Class which the GF wanted I would have lost at least 50%.

Sensible approach but when the editor of Car Magazine tells you in his lead column a few months ago that a mate had bought a few F40s as an investment you know that the wrong people are buying things for the wrong reasons.
