Phew! You had us all feeling sorry for you there. Congratulations - post some pics when you get her.
Sorry, but couldn't resist a bit of mystery:goodnews:

I will certainly post pics when she lands. I have the two longest weeks of my life ahead of me while it is prepared and pick it up.

Out of interest, I have been offered AutoGlym LifeShine by the stealer (dealer). Has anyone got any experience with this product and think its worth the £400 investment?

Darn it... fell for that one!

Re; lifeshine, it is emperors new clothes at best... Typically it involves an acid wash, machine polish and a finish with super resin polish and a very lightened wallet :( any dealer with an ounce of morals will showroom prep your car for you anyway, if you can resist the temptation to get personal with its curves and a pot of quality wax every week for the first year you are a better man than me! These lifetime systems are a total waste of time, ask anyone who had a three piece scotchguarded if it stayed any cleaner for it?

Don't buy the Lifeshine stuff complete waste of money. You're better off spending the same amount to have a professional detailer work their magic on your car. You'll get better results which will last longer. I think those sort of products should be banned under the Trade Description Act. Lifeshine my ****!

Thanks to both, that's my mind made up on LifeShine!
I have had mixed results with these type of products, but mostly poor. Had a great experience with a new boxter s in 2005 using permaguard. This wasn't done by the dealer but by a detailer, but I had the car for nearly 3 years and it maintained it's beading and glossy paint without any further waxing. From then on, it went down hill with a Carrera S with permaguard that was rubbish, then supaguard that was rubbish on another 911, then permaguard again on another 911 that was again rubbish. Recently Mercedes did my CLS when I bought it and 2 years in that is going well.

I'm going to go down the independent detailer route and maintain it myself. As 2b1ask1 says, it will be good to get up close and personal with those curves!

Well done, c4sman! I think if you look outside it's very spring-like. Looks to me that your plans are in good shape.

Agreed with the other comments on SupaLifeGuardShienShite. I've spent out on it a few times now and wish I hadn't. A proper detailer would do a better job. Dang, I'D do a better job! And for less money, too.

Good luck playing the waiting game. I hope you have loads to keep yourself busy. You may have trouble sleeping, though.

Well done C4S, you had us all going there for bit..!! Can't wait to see the pics..!! Forget the £400 rip off for lifeguard, that money spent at a detailer would be a better option..!!

Well done, why such a long wait?

Thanks Bigbob, the dealer says the need circa 10 days to service and put the car through their pre flight checks for the warranty, I can only get to them at weekend due to work, and that means Saturday week.

Thanks to all generally on this forum as it definitely helped get me across the line (perhaps a faster than I should be but I'm not complaining).
