Withe three brand new shiny points on my license, but the only points collected in the last 24 years, I was expecting an increase in insurance premium but nothing like Admiral Muti Car have decided to impose.

Maserati Gransport Last Year Premium £652 This year £978
Smart Car Last Year Premium £321 This year £369
GWizz (top speed 35mph) Last YearPremium £322 This year £474

7 years protected bonus, Maserati always garaged, are theey having a laugh???????

Looking for some ideas of what you guys pay and where you live and whether or not you have points on license. Have I been shafted???? Someone told me that premiums had gone up massively recently

Ros's new polo.....last year £ 370........this year £ 480........no points on her licence, nothing diferent from last year.
my jeep, .......last year £373........this year £ 499.98 and I notice that this year excludes " to travel to & from work "

Got ros's insured on line for £ 270. check on line next week when the jeep needs renewing.
what I also noticed is a little note saying that they will send out the policy documents. did'nt ask me if i agreed or accept the quote. had to phone them up and tell them not to bother. cheecky b*ggers.

UM. I'm having the same problem. Last year, £700 on a £30k GS. Now looking at £1100 on a 4200 with modifications. Not happy, waiting for a plan to call back. Done all the price comparison sites and £1100 is the cheapest. Never paid more than £700 for anything.

Don't know whether you run two cars or not, but I do and Amiral came in quite low for me on a multicar policy - I couldn't have got cheaper elsewhere with individual policies. I'm so impressed that I will be putting my wife's car on the policy when her insurance is up as the more cars on there, the cheaper it gets (I should be getting paid by Admiral for saying all this....)

Just put my car through gocompare again.....instead of my premium of £620 paid in November 2010... its £932 incl £500 excess and protected.........so in effect a 50% increase...................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Dick Turpin is alive and well guys......................time to suck it up!

I share your pain
I ended up having quite a long heated discussion with my broker when I got my masser, it’s a cat d so therefor worth less for obvious reasons, but the premium was the same if not more than a non cat-d. How does that figure !!!
And don’t get me started as to why upgrading your brakes can add a few hundred quid to the premium. (well it did on my XKR anyhow)

I was looking at an XKR the other day how did you get on with it?

i loved it, unfortunately it did not like the ice and I ended up upside down. I have one that had been 'upgraded' by paramount performance so went very well, although i think it felt a much bigger car than the 4200. From a cruising point of view o would have the xkr, but from a drivers point of view the masser.

Aliquot, mods can make a huge difference, I recall direct line trying to charge an additional £150 for the Lotus once I'd told them that I'd put Viper stripes on it! Same story with uprated brakes, suspension and harnesses - all make the car safer, all add to the premium.
Admiral were a bit more open minded and didn't charge for any of the mods.

I was looking at the new shape XKR convertible, more reliable than a DB9 and a lot cheaper to service. They seem to be coming down in price to below £30k which is a lot of car for the money.
