Insurance Shocker

Don't know whether you run two cars or not, but I do and Amiral came in quite low for me on a multicar policy - I couldn't have got cheaper elsewhere with individual policies. I'm so impressed that I will be putting my wife's car on the policy when her insurance is up as the more cars on there, the cheaper it gets (I should be getting paid by Admiral for saying all this....)

I am currently with Admiral Multi Car. Like all insurance companies they have an uncanny way of seducing new customers with fabulous low premiums to get their custom and then grab back at a later date with massive increases at renewal

I have to agree about the plus side of Admiral Multi-car Policy. I insure 4 cars with them, one of them being my son as his own policy holder, building up his own no-claims, on a Ford Puma aged 19, my wifes SLK a Fiesta and obviously the 3200, all fully comp...£1200. When you call them, you get to speak to an operative in Wales who at least can understand the circumstances you wish to discuss, not like many other call centres that I can name and shame. They get my vote and custom again for the 4th year running.

Just a little tip when your insurance company sends you a schedule make sure that the value of the car reflects the true value. Admiral Multi Car had the original values when I first took out the policy. They don't adjust this themselves as the values decrease but rely on you. If it came to a claim then they would apply the true value of the car. Although it did not make an atom of difference on the G Wizz, Smart Car and my son's Fiat, reducing the value of the Gransport from the original £40,000 I paid 18months ago to £35,000 which I estimate as being the value today, redduced the premium by £35............every little helps

We are in mid process of adding two new insurance partners coming on board, have met them at their london offices and one of them has been the longest trading in the performance car market (so must be doing something right!) and the quotes we discussed were very good, as with all renewals, they will never close them all, but they certainly seemed to have competitive quotes and rock solid policies...and key - customer service. Can't reveal them just yet as we are going through compliance - but will keep you posted chaps!

Good to know Andrea....hopefully either of them car take the edge off the huge rise in what Maserati owners are going to have to pay!

i do hope so P.... we do grill our partners and renew to keep in the market if not performing... as i say i can't guarantee they will cover all and beat every quote, but they will do their best and of course policies need to be measured side by side to see apples and apples as they say.

This thread just got me thinking id better check what my insurance would be on a Spyder or GS.

:) Asda just quoted me £7500 full comp!!!
Direct in - £5200

At this point im getting worried...but then Admiral qouted £1800 with business use and a 300 excess so panic over.

Im 29 no NCB as have it on my other car and ive 3 points on my DL

Admiral so far have been the cheapest but you maybe interested to know that Admiral Multi car is significantly cheaper than Admiral itself. If you have another car in the family it maybe worth getting a quote
