The ongoing thread with my mates this year is at any car event, Mclarens are everywhere and they must have a £299 pop deal on.. they are common as muck.

He also set up an internet business, sold it, became ski instructor, got injured and came back to entertain us all...

Always makes me ponder where I went wrong in my life choices when I see someone like him with such a car collection. We were always told to work hard at school. I still don’t understand how these traders make so much money. There must be a huge component of luck. Often the dim fast talking ones from public schools. The smart ones go on to be actuaries or the like

Doesn't he still provide some consulting and advisory services to companies? It's a shame many youtubers are perceived as spoiled rich kids when some have worked hard to make enough for their first car and still have to work bloody hard to keep one car or a collection running. I know I couldn't cope with the ridicule and derision they attract, as well as the fickle revenues of YouTube. They're made of sterner stuff.

I had the misfortune to know one of these traders a while back in a circle of friends. A total cockwomble, snobby, overbearing , condescending, generally unbearable, however I did find out all the parties , the big house and the shoots etc were all for appearances. He was always trading something up, the car, his watch etc . He was actually over mortgaged and only needed something to slightly wrong and he’d be screwed, overnight literally it’d all be gone. However they all have to keep up the appearance of a certain lifestyle. The trade off was if he stuck it out the bonuses , property gains etc and pension would make him a rich man.. The funny thing was for all his airs and graces he came from a true blue collar background, but lied about it and didn’t speak to his parents because he felt they’d lacked ambition in life.
As for Shmee and the luck element I suppose that’s true of a lot of things, someone must like him given all his followers.. still can’t go him myself ..

Yes, according to the net he does. With a worth of £2million a year from sponsorship etc. Shmee150 is like marmite, love or hate if you read the comments, very few in between.

I don't suppose many take the ridicule they attract seriously. Afterall, they've chosen to put themselves out there in the first place. Much like the Doug De Motormouth chappie - as long as people talk about him and click his links he'll be happy.

I was a currency broker in the city for thirty years. Whilst there are quite a few very successful individuals both in broking and trading, there are many others who only earned a modest living. The 'city' like anything life can bring big rewards, BUT most who are enjoying these rewards from my experience are hard aggressive b*ds that would do whatever it takes to get ahead, and treating people like absolute s*** is par for the course.
Those who are the biggest bullies and scumbags come first, those who are nice come last.
Probably why I am out of work... Apologies if this comes across like a rant.

Not at all. Just seems to be an accurate reflection. Doesn’t seem like a level playing field where intellect is king that’s for sure
