So I have sent the request to collect the car and refund the purchase price.

I suspect this will not go smoothly,
You have made the right choice. There is no reason to have to deal with the pain and costs of a poorly looked after car when there are many to be found. Just look at them first and get a ppi. If it's a good one then the 14 day return under dsr won't be necessary.

You will find one. Maybe start a thread detailing what you actually want and don't want.

I will start you off.

  1. 4.7
  2. Yellow Calipers
;)

AND STOP PUTTING MILES ON IT. Dealer will use that against your refund request.

And then ill report them for MOT fraud. BTW not driving it since i discovered the headlight is not secured.

if you mean a PPI as a pre purchase inspection, please enlighten me how to do that before buying the car?
Look, drive, if it is the one, then arrange for local indie to do ppi either by visiting site or ideally getting it to them so it can go onto ramps. Any good dealer will allow an inspection if they are genuine. If they don't run away.
If it is the car you want and scared it might sell, agree a refundable deposit if the inspection identifies any nasties.

Spoons,
I'm not bothered, if you're not interested in my car. What I am bothered about is the clown that sold you the car and
if he believes he can b*gger you about.
Be concise. Don't use the telephone, if you can help it. Keep everything in writing from here on.

Be explicit. As in 'Under the Distance Selling Regulations of 20XX I am rejecting vehicle XX58XXX.
I require you to collect the vehicle within forty-eight hours and before you or your agents take possession,
I require the exact amount that I paid you for the car to be transferred to my account. Specifically: £19XX:00
Although I am not obliged to list the faults with the car that you did not disclose.
For clarity and in case I commence court proceedings, I shall do so here.
Your agents are at liberty to inspect the car before taking possession, to ascertain that it is your vehicle.
I expect you to confirm that you will carry out my wishes before 5.00 pm Monday October, 11th.

If I do not hear from you as required, I shall immediately commence court proceedings to recover my money.
I will charge you £XX.00 per day, to store your vehicle securely and this will be payable, before the car is released
to you. I shall report you to Police Scotland, as I believe you have committed offences involving fraud.
It is clear that the MoT that you obtained was fraudulent, as the car is clearly an MoT fail on many counts.
I shall be reporting the MoT Centre to Police Scotland and to the regulatory body for MoT centres.
If you refuse my reasonable requests as detailed here. As well as the cost of the car, I shall claim for my time
in being forced to deal with this, as well as stress and damage to feelings'
I shouldn't be surprised if this episode doesn't receive wide publicity on social media and possibly on television,
as I shall submit my account of these proceedings to the Rogue Traders television programme.

However, if you immediately carry out my reasonable request, none of the above needs to happen.
*

I'm not suggesting that you use those words exactly. More the gist. After you've checked where you stand
legally. Does Scottish or English law apply and what are the implications, if any.

Depending on where the trader is in Scotland. I might be persuaded to come over. If you were inclined to call into the garage, to 'assert your rights'. My past career, would make Police Scotland fall over themselves to help.
Can discuss via PM, should you want to.

Hello fello Maseratites....

I am very excitedly writing this post, as the new owner of a 2008 Granturismo. The car is being delivered to my work on Thursday and I can't wait.

I've made a stab in the dark purchase for a car I've never seen in the flesh and I mean any Maserati, and I've only ever seen one semi up close.

So, here is the expected car:

My daily car is a 2010 Renault Megane RS Cup. It's been extensively modified for track use and vibrates like a vibrating thing ;)

You would think I have a thing for Renault, but the white one is Mrs Spoon's.

The Megane's struggle to get into the gym, I mean garage, so I'm going to have to get a single large garage door fitted if I want to keep this car inside. That said, this being my first "proper" car, I'm happy for it to sit on the drive shouting here I am.

I'm really into drives through Wales and other twisty orientated routes and time on track for the enthusiastic stuff.

Nice to meet you all so to speak.

Mr Spoon

Hi Mr Spoon, we are in the same camp, I picked up my first Maserati GT S yesterday in Edinburgh and drove it over 300 miles back home to Newbury. The best day of my life, after the birth of our three children and my wedding day of course!
How are you getting on with yours? I am still getting to grips with the power, staying in auto for the time being.

F**k me. When I read 'we are in the same camp' my heart sank. I thought we had another lemon.
Spoons, you have made the biggest splash upon joining this forum, of anyone that I've seen join in the last few years.
You shall go down in legend ;)

I know you can’t go appearances all the time but those two guys in the website look as dodgy as they come.

Company was incorporated just 12 months ago.

Really hope this works out for you.
