Lets not discount it yet Frank, we have a little time. We will put it to a vote once we have 3 locations.

It includes breakfast:

Double or twin room with breakfast: £115
Single room with breakfast: £75
3 course Xmas dinner with half a bottle of wine per head £55

So, a couple is £115 plus £55 plus £55 Total £225 (£112.50 each)
Flying solo is £75 plus £55 Total £130
Flying solo but sharing a twin is £57.50 plus £55 Total: £112.50

How about this one - Midlands:
http://www.ettington-park-hotel.com/hotels/hotelbilder/

We seem to be creeping south again, we need to be more central!!

Middle of the country is basically God's Country - Yorkshire, where men are men and sheep run scared!!!

How about this one in cheshire: https://www.pumahotels.co.uk/book

Ettington park looks absolutely lovely Rob , website is very basic tho nothing about the restaurant/facilities .....anyone know it been there even

Here's another one: http://www.moorsidegrangehotel.com/
I have asked the question, see what they come back with, as loads of hotels seem to be booked up on the 8th, any that are worth going to anyway.

Ettington Park is fully booked on the 8th, too late was the cry!!!

The Moorside one is where my best mate got married, and made me wear a kilt as best man. It was a long time ago and very nice, but its not exactly central from what I remember.

Buxton is lovely, it is where my mum & dad are, there is some cracking roads around and about just not he cat & fiddle since they average speed camera'd the darn thing! Buxton is just about the furthest from any coast so it qualifies as central....!

Tempting to keep last years hotel and just get ****** at a pub next to the restaurant

No need to rush back like we have been other years, we finish eating and go over get ****** then go hotel to sleep

Not wishing to come across negative, but I'm sure that where ever we go we will have a great time, like the sound of the Xmas party theme.. Think we just need to select a venue & stick to it.. Obviously costs need to be competitive but too cheap is never the best in the long run.
That said I appreciate all the views but I feel we need to trust Matt on this & let him make a decision .
Cheers
