You been checking my behind out again @MarkMas ?The problem is that the underside of the boot lid on the QPV is very 'busy' with the centrally-positioned release button, lock, lights, etc. But. yes, I suppose you could put it in one of the lights somehow.
Matt did a good job fitting the camera on its little bracket, but I have seen a neater solution on @Devonboy 's car.

Back on the Carplay / Auto upgrade.. Matt recently installed mine too (2015 GTS). I wanted this particular upgrade as the car looks stock and keeps all the legacy functions which may occasionally be needed.
I agree with what others have said, it transforms the experience - this is my only car (apart from the wife's Alfa) so I drive it everywhere. It's great to have wireless Android Auto (phone can stay in my pocket) and get full access to Google Maps / Waze as well my music collection for short or long trips.
The sound quality of the music player is also noticeably better (IMO) than I was getting from a USB stick in the glove box. The rear camera is basic but ok - good enough to take care of tight manoeuvres!
I wish I had known about these kinds of retrofit options before I got rid of the XKR (which I loved) a couple of years ago - one of the reasons for changing was the woeful built-in satnav and CD player. I had already seen that this was available for the GranTurismo before I acquired my car, so made sure to get it done as soon as I could.
Only thing I wish is that the tracks could be changed using the steering wheel - volume works of course, but I can be fickle with my music and tend to skip tracks quite often depending on my mood!
Apart from this minor thing (as it's pretty easy to change tracks by pressing the button on the touch screen!), I am really happy with the convenience, quality and integration of this upgrade.

Do voice commands work? My android supplies choons via bluetooth to my loudlink which repaced my CD changer. If I'm not feeling paranoid about all an sundry listening in on my intimate private, secret and ever so interesting life, I get my phones attention by saying "OK Google", wait for the beep, and then commandingly say "Next"!

I haven't done the 'ok google' thing in the car (will try next time) but when the assistant reads out a whatapp message I can tell it if I want to reply or not - seems to understand me well through the mic that is also part of the install.

OK tried it earlier.. So I was driving along and said "ok Google, take me home" and was picked up by the phone which was in my jeans pocket. Worked great!

Siri is pretty good. She can get a bit random with dictating WhatsApp messages, but to be honest she's no more random than what I type anyway. Overall CarPlay is a superb upgrade. Different car, but I'm very happy I got mine done.

I have steering wheel control….I use a different system….but Matt’s seen it so I would expect it to be a future part of the kit at some stage…

By the way, you CarPlay users out there, does your mapping ever forget where you are by a few hundred metres and hence start sending you highly unhelpful instructions because it thinks you're doing 80 through the housing estate alongside the road you're actually on? I've read mixed reports about the cause, but location of the car's GPS antenna seems to be one possible cause. Anyone else?

Does it even use the car's antenna? I assumed it was just using the phone's GPS.
