Switching from a 4200CC to a Quattroporte.

It's just done 46k Elliott - been having a quick look at various options today over t'internet. I need to know from Geoff what has actually failed and needs replacing though. On the basis it's the cats, then Larini sports cats look like being a decent option. Very much open to suggestions, naturally! I'd like it to be a tad more vocal, but can't be doing with any booming at cruise speed.

Can't comment on Larini and 4200, but Larini on my QP sounds good in my opinion,
I have sports cats, x-pipe, link pipes and back boxes, they look and sound the business
So, no booming around 2,500-3,500 rpm, ENZ? That's interesting. Though, off the top of my head a full Larini system would be above my budget.

No booming, and although my system is not valved, with careful use of the right foot, I can poodle around town with little noise and cruise very comfortably,
but when the loud peddle is pressed, all h3ll breaks loose from the pipes...
I particularly wanted a nice burble at tickover, but more of a mid to high scream rather low down roar when accelerating, and that's exactly what I have.
I have no idea what the current OEM vs Larini prices are, but can give you a direct comparison from a few years ago when I had this done.

Yep - would like that, many thanks Enzo. My route back from Gatwick is M25/Dartford/M11, so I imagine it wouldn't be impossible to break off towards Chelmsford area one day.
