Excellent news but even louder. your neighbours are going to love you

I've already been asked by two neighbours where she is as they haven't seen or heard her for the last couple of days.
They miss her!

And the bloke next door wants to have a ride in her. Although he keeps making out that it's his 7 year old daughter who loves cars who wants to go out in her! lol!

Just spoke to Matthew at Giallo.

The problem was the cat on the drivers side has completely been destroyed, and it's blocked the exhaust.
The fix. New Larini cat's! :D

So they will be going on when they come in, which will be a week or two.

Apparently I was fortunate that reving the engine as we were at Brooklands, blows the **** backwards when they're failing so it reduces the chance of any being sucked back.
Which can happen if you just switch off the engine after a drive.

In summary it will cost about £2,500 which is a fair bit cheaper than a new engine.

And she'll also go like a stink. And be a lot louder. :D

Why spend all that on Larini, why not just go pick up your old cats, sent them to Benny and get him to ship you a stainless pair back. They will cost about £600 that way and not the £k's Larini charge for bent pipe.

Or take them to any exhaust shop and they will do it for you.

Bennys ones will be just as good as Larinis . I might get some before Le mans if they are £600.

So Matt do they just replace the primaries?

As said, no way would I be buying new larini's, cut the primary's in half, gut, and weld back up.
Cut out the secondaries and weld in new 200 cell cats.
Then don't forget to cash in the guts of the 4-off old cats, I got £110 for them last year from local scrap metal merchant.

Here you go, this is what Benny had made up for me, £400

This is the secondary cat delete and open up the squish pipes with twin pipes.

My primary's are in the manifolds, they were moved there to stop the issue you had, putting 2 cats in this pipe.

You basically need the same with a single cat in each and if you want to keep it quiet (which I am sure you don't) have a small cherry bomb free flow silencer where the secondary cat would have been.

The cats are about £100 each so your looking at circa £600

My 4200 has a benny X pipe and Maverick gutted back boxes

I have the original X pipe and standard back boxes , not sure whether my car has cats in the manifolds , if I went for this £400 option which combination would result in the best airflow / sound

I don't really want it any louder than it is now as 6am starts are likely to wake the neighbourhood
