Really very nice. If I lived in a dinner suit, I'd buy one :)

C

Ah, that brings up the question of whether a dinner suit is a semi-formal black tie or a formal tailcoat - some would say no watch with the latter as you are meant to be fully immersed in the event - an exception being made of course if a tailcoat is your school uniform as you need to get to lessons on time. Doubt that any of these "rules" are relevant now - would a thinner, manual watch be better with formal wear? Thinking on who lives / works in a dinner suit I suppose that would imply it is a doorman or waiter's watch :)

Heheh. Yes, of course. By dinner suit, I meant 'black tie' which as any fule kno is semi-formal, so a watch is permitted :)

I don't think that thickness or automatic / manual is relevant, but that doesn't look at all thick anyway. I'm not going to imply further that you're a waiter ;)

ETA - quite thick as extra hour dial between mech and face..I've not the build (unlike the PH peeps) for a doorman but I certainly feel like Manuel in Fawlty Towers at this time of year - lots of family over Xmas and one daughter (23today) has her party en casa every year - actually v nice to see her local school friends now young adults..
Lots of shopping, kitchen portering and waitering.. Some of her mates are interested in cars and liked the GS last year (garaged this year) and a couple have watches much more special than any I've owned. I do like my Wards.. All, bar the end of line trident blue face / orange S hand bought in sales - thanks SM forum for alerting me to brand! (Bott at R not CHR W obvs)2017-01-01 19.20.00.jpg

Almost a full set!

You appear to have a pilot C8 in there as well. I have the same, but in black with the blue makrings. Spitfire commemoration I recall

Lovely thing. It's this weeks watch now the Tag is broken and until the new links turn up for the Breitling.

Seems that David Caves of Silent Witness also favours the C8. Unless my (and Mrs Catman's) eyes deceive us, he was wearing one in the new series.

Not seen it but I suspect they have markedly distorted the bit I used to do, (making the role far broader and far more exciting for telly than it is). Not done it for more than 5 years now and I'm not going to take it up again!

I suspect they might have done as well! The busted a gang of people smugglers yesterday. Of course that might have been what you did!

I noticed that to C....Although I'm not that observant usually as my eyes are on Emilia Fox most of the time.........what an elegant woman..........So glad Silent Witness is back and love the fact they put them on over two days together.......Anyway back to thoughts of Emilia Fox..........I getting two fixes at the moment as she is also Delicious as well.

Yes you will be right as they end up doing the Polices job and their own.....but a very good show never the less.

In all honesty Mrs Catman called it first. I feel similar about the delectable Ms Fox, although I feel she's not carrying her years as well as some. Mrs Catman, for example ;)
