I've never had the need to polish mine myself.

Personally I prefer to polish my own. That way you can make sure it's all clean and in good condition. I find it satisfying as well

I`ve always liked to think of myself as an upright sort of person - the sort of person who would wear a straw hat rather than a helmet as it doesn`t need burnishing!
