Any chance we can get some good videos of members that have done 'cost effective' exhaust modifications to their cars so we can all get a good idea of what works best, that would be awesome

Yea, but if your running 2K down to the south of europe and back, you don't want the car sounding like It's a Brands Hatch track day mup!

Why would you want an Italian thoroughbred V8 to sound like an American pig-iron growler? IMO, Maseratis, indeed all Italian sports cars, should sound more highly strung and finely tuned.

Because the 3200 is different that's why!

Surely would have been easier to remove the boxes and just use straight through pipes? That way you can revert back if needed come resales time and you save the weight of the back boxes!

Agreed Phil. That is exactly what I have done & seems to make the most sense to me. Bit more expensive though as needs a bit of work to fabricate & include mounts/hangers etc. The gutting of rear boxes is a cheaper/easier & DIY alternative but not better in my book.

You don't need hangers, mine hangs free from the centre section all the way to the back.

To Maintain the stock look two Y pieces were fabricated so that one pipe could go into the two Oval tips.

Oh and note that the standard pipes go from 3.25 to about 3 Inch at rears so the problem we had us that stainless has a wider diameter than the stick pipes. Routing the metalwork over the rear subframe was difficult because it ran so close to the Cv boots and handbrake cables so a decision was made to run under the subframe instead.

Exactly what I'm doing to mine, although I'll have Maverick's boxes as without the cats it was just too loud for him. BennyD can sort your a x-pipe no problem. Just PM him.
