Thanks all, anyone tried yellow stuff on the GranTurismo? Also my discs - front and back - have started developing the circular ridges in the middle of the discs (on 34000 miles). Does that mean I am passed being able to replace just the pads? Cheers.

Myles (Blu) runs yellow stuff on his GTS and rates them - he's used them at Brunty. Sounds like you have grooved discs which would suggest replacement required. Depending on how deep they are you might want to consider having them skimmed rather than replacing them? I know a few GTS owners have done this without issue to extend the life of the very expensive discs. I would do this or replace the discs before you replace the pads, otherwise the pads will form to the grooved disc shape.

Thanks, good advice. I think this re-inforces the view that if I was to skim them it should have been earlier. The car is coming up to five years old and I plan to keep it for the same again so I think I will run the current discs/pads into the ground (pads measure 4.5mm using a great pad depth gauge I bought off ebay recently) and then replace in full.

One option is to go for OEM front discs, pattern rears from eurospares and yellow stuff pads both ends. Probably the cheapest option?

When doing your rear discs, I would suggest consider replacing the EPB shoes too. Five years old and 34k, they are probably getting past their best unless of course having an auto, you don't often use it?

Good point. I only use the EPB intra-day so save it sticking if parked up for a few days but replacing the shoes might be a good idea and, probably, not silly ££ either.

PS I'm hoping to get another few k out of the brakes first mind!

You'll get some FD discs for less than OEM prices. Mr Crud is soon to fit some to his GTS, so will likely be reporting back on his initial findings soon.
