I have now done or commisioned the last stages of the work to my S21YDR and it is now all up together and looking A1 as it should have in the first place.
Its an extensive list of replacements and mods and i think the car will do anyone proud now.
I am looking to exchange it.(yeh i know i have only just got it really and spent literally £1000`s on "getting it right" and modifcations but i really think that i want a GS).
The more i look at one the more i can see that a gransport is a reflection of my particular tastes. If it has carbon stuff even better.
So if anyone has a genuine GS and they think they might like to go topless for a while then perhaps you would like to trade.
I can supply a list of the new items the S21YDR has had and the servicing and stuff.I dont mind a higher milage GS but it really needs to have an up to date service history and no outstanding "advisories"
I dont expect any takers but you never know and this is the place to start.
I may also consider any other coupe by maserati with cash either way.
PM for details

Yes first a GS then a GT ..........................then my ultimate goal a Grancabriolet S in black mettalic with black and red leather (just a bit of red) dark wheels and red calipers...but thats a little way off yet.

I would be happy with a GS, still my fave Maser apart from the MC12.

Thats a fine plan Adam...Although I would go GT S with full MC kit....Convertable doesn't do it for me so much...Lovely though it is.

replaced the main weather seals
cleaned the Nit CD internally
Reconditioned the air con and regassed it
Got a genuine sat Nav disk
had the 4 alloys removed and stripped to metal and redone my a maserati approved wheel refurbisher.had a total of 8 coats of paints and then fired in an oven.
fitted 4 brand new vreidestein Ultrac sessanta.
Had the oil and filter and pollen filter done.
had a full aircon recondition by maserati
had the 31,500 mile major service with carbon filters and all plugs, filters, belts and fluids changed (according to invoice)
Had Maserati colour coded carpets fitted (still have old ones for winter use)
Had new petrol cap (still no seal though,so Eurospares can supply one)

Had the electric seats repaired.
fitted a quicksilver sports exhaust system (still have standard cans)
had the windows reset and recalibrated after a leak detection(which showed windows needed ressetting).
Bought a maserati tyre seal kit
Bought a complete decal kit for the spyder (not yet fitted)
Bought a carbon steering wheel.
It had New Rear disks and brakes all round
have new resistor replaced on cooling fan next week.
Have booked in for a maserati KDS wheel alignment next week.
have cleaned it a lot
oh and spent hours on the phone confirming the cars recent spigot, thrust bearing and clutch change and general history.

they make the originals look very faded and lacking in detail.
I will do this at the very end after the car gets its paintshield.

Adam you nearlly rebuilt the car. Hope you find a good GS. You might give Narman a call at Nuvola. He may well be interested in your 4200 and do a deal against a Gransport. He is a great indie to do business with and usually he has some fab cars kicking about

Agree with UM...I was looking for an Alfa Romeo GTA sportswagon for my wife and dealt with Narman and found then very helpful and knowledgeable.

Just read what you've done to the car Adam....My God someone will get a very well sorted car. Are you going to put it up for sale on Piston heads or just so if anything turns up and the px/swap front.

Hi,sorry to say 90k is a little bit too much for me really as i will clock up miles as it will be a main car.
he thinks its worth 23k-ish and if it does have 90k i cant see that myself.
I was thinking 60,000 miles would be maximum and OK with full SH and no advisories.
I was told my spyder would be worth about £16,500 recently by another owner (on the dark side.) based on what he sold his 02 car for 2 years ago.
I am not sure my car should be that cheap and after all costs are finally tallied i would lose almost £11,000 based on that figure.
So i probably will end up losing a fair bit.

Give the Spyder to Narman to sell SOR, find yourself maybe £10k and get yourself a sorted Gransport with lower mileage A decent Spyder will always sell easier than a coupe especially with the weather the way it is :)

16.5k is too low for your car...Just have to look at the classifieds to see that and there aren't many 2004 model years out there. A specialist would put yours up with warrenty for around 22995k I would imagine so you should be able to get close to 20k if not more.....19995 would make it attractive to some.
