Needs must, much as I would like to be done by mid week I think I'm in Hull and Nottingham on Wednesday Thursday.... Not ideal but still doable!

I think I can draw this thread to a conclusion with the return to roadworthiness achieved now. I will be pursuing many of the items covered along the way, including but not limited to; silicone cooling pipe set (suspended following the disaster in the Philippines directly involving the developer), induction kit (to follow but similarly affected), manifolds (sometime next year), de-cat or sports cat front section after that, wheel refurb in the spring, respray work when the funds allow in the spring, major service (still needed), geo-setup, replacement clutch and by then probably new brakes.... So I'm not out of the woods before the Centenary run but at least I understand how the car is put together and nothing on it bothers me to tackle :) It may not look it but actually it has already come a very long way!

Cheers Rob,

I was really chuffed with her, not a single issue all weekend, settled in beautifully, did about 370 miles all in including a trip down to Southampton to see our eldest on the way home (bit of a detour), just add fuel :) Winter tyres are quite different, a little floaty feeling but massive grip.

Bear with me on the induction kit, it will be well worth it :) I'll get it resolved and then offer it as a kit like the cooling hose set. The intention is to not need any wiring modification on the MAF unit but significantly improve airflow by taking out all the built in problems.

Intersting Newton, I think you could have a list of interested parties for this one..!!

With you on the winters, Newton. Just had a drive out of the city with temps down to zero and the grip is great. I checked the pressures and they were a bit low, the floatiness has gone down a bit since I put them up to 2.2 bar all round, but I'm going to experiment to find the best compromise.

Mine have both the mountain and a snowflake, so full winters - Continental TS830P

Only big difference is that they seem to really throw water out of the sides, the side of the car is filthy from driving on wet roads, much more than I've seen before.

I remember you were having a bit of trouble, I wondered why you fell back so quickly on the dual carriageway, I found out later, good you have cured that issue..!!

Some distressing news today: I got fed up of not hearing anything from the hose guy and although I was aware he had big issues in the Philippines at Christmas when his partner's house and everything got swept away. I got the truth today that he has basically given up all his European work and gone to the Philippines full time to sort the place out and live a more peaceful existence. So there won't be any further development of the silicone hoses or induction kit from that source....

Anyone got any suggestions???
