Keep at it Newton. You're doing a great job and it'll be worth the effort once completed.

I am hoping so, all my efforts are going into it now, I just need the rest of the hoses and a following wind to put it all back together! Lots of bits to buy this week so it can happen. Radiator and airbox anti vibration mounts to start with, off the shelf items for not a lot unless you want to buy them from Maserati! I do have to get a new bracket that goes at the front end of the wing under the headlight and clips the top of the bumper as a stud sheared off taking it out, alternatively I could grind out the stud and weld in a new bolt :)

Two things won't happen this side of Christmas meet is the paint and the wheel refurb, so I think I'll hold the wheel refurb till I go back onto summer tyres but the respray work could happen anytime.

So just the two big coolant pipes needed to finish the cooling system off and I'm still waiting for them to arrive but I have rebuilt everything behind the engine, put the radiators and cowlings back, mounted the front bumper, fog lights and a good many other parts. I'd put the battery on a full charge overnight and a few minutes ago I risked a 15 second run up just to hear her burst into life!!!!!!

SHE LIVES :D

I only risked a few seconds as no cooling yet but first turn of the key is amazing after such a long time out of action I'm gobsmacked and pleased as punch!

She WILL be at the Christmas bash one way or another!

I'll hold judgement on the new battery is it holds a charge during the week... Better start looking for insurance!

She is not going to look pretty unfortunately as the scheduled paint and wheel refurb have had to be abandoned this side of Christmas but I just want it mechanically sorted.

The bottom line is I want perfection for the centenary trip Dem, I'm sorting the mechanics first and the paint will have to follow even with the poor state of the front wing!

Don't have any doubts mate you are my co-pilot & chief navigator for the trip!

The hoses man came around tonight as a bit of a surprise as he has been conspicuous in his absence but there is a good reason; his fiancee is Filipino and he was out there for the earthquake last month, survived no major issues but came home a week later they had the super storm, she is alive but everything is lost. I feel for him right now :( So I'm putting the old two big pipes on for now and we will resume development when he is ready.
