Oh Newton: What have you done now?

He would like to know just how a stock delivers bottom, mid and top punch so he can engineer the induction gain at the best point, apparently it is entirely possible...

Induction gain sounds interesting, is your guy based near you, or would he need someone to travel? I might have some free time next week, if my little Spyder would do the trick.

I could do with a bit more bottom, mid range and top end so that's a bit more of a challenge for him!

No suprise there Ian, I understand the principles but what is possible is unknown at this point, basically the stock system is a mash of steps, ripples and swirls that help nothing.

Newton...you're going to have to spell all this out in words of single syllables.....just what is being proposed and basics behind each change/up-grade

Please....:)

We have to do the cooling pipes first so I can get my car back together then we can see what can be achieved with the induction & air box replacement including a single piece MAF keeping the restrictions out.

Did you have a chance to do this yet, Newton? I know you've been crazily busy recently. Any help I can give, let me know.

Hoses first and then get it all back together, paintwork then induction then manifolds/cats & front section is the plan :)

Thanks Catman, I was sure it would be a common part and that price is a lot more attractive than Eurospares.

Hi Ru, yes it is just one of those jobs I've always done on older cars, there is nothing worse than sitting with your bonnet up in a cloud of steam! I believe a silicone set has been created for the 3200 on here already :)

Link ?

Thx !

So today I did a major service on the Aygo, used my new ramps to great success and after fluid changes I set about replacing the auxiliary belt... The alternator bolts were made of cheese and one rounds straight off without the slightest movement. So I needed to get better access and ended up with a familiar situation:

I see a theme occurring!!!

The bumper removal gave me access to get the torch on it, plenary of WD40, more heat and eventually cracked it lose. Now replaced with a quality bolt. Rebuilt the front & completed the work. Not sure what the best bit was but it is like a gazzel now and even stops.
