So the bolts are changed over and they have been sent off to a nice man who has promised to send them back all shiney! Hopefully in 1-2 weeks.

How have people put their bolts back on? I heard one place say electricians tape on each bolt??

I'm getting my wheels refurbed (specialist wheels place) so think I'll get that done and then ask them to put the new bolts on at same time. Going to look special!

Servicing and MOT first - let's just hope for no major issues!!

No dont let them do it unless you supervise it , they will probably use a air gun automatically , definately a hand job, pardon the expression , i have a socket that i have lined with electicians insulating tape on the inside , saves doing every single bolt , then just torque up at the end

regards loz

Morning all - just to let you know I've received the wheel bolts back from Classics and Chrome - they look superb.

I also negotiated a deal with the owner for this forum (hope that's ok?!). Basically instead of £3.50 per bolt he's agreed to £3.00 per bolt. Basically saves you £10. Just quote the forum name and perhaps mine - Mark.

Parisien - I'm getting my wheels refurbed on Wednesday - getting them to put the bolts on there and then. Think I need to ask them to put them on with electricians tape so not to damage the chrome? Would you like yours/Daves sent straight back to Classics and Chrome?

I need some centre badges for the wheels - I asked the scrappage guy last week but not heard back from hi
. Do Eurospares sell them and how much are they?

Cheers

Mark

Mark, have contacted these guys with my details, have you sent them back yet?

Cheers,

P

Hi P

I only just got the car and bolts back late this afternoon. I'll pop them first class and recorded delivery tomorrow for you as promised.

The wheels look superb after a complete refurb. I'll try to figure how to post pics!

The bolts look superb - really set the wheels off. Very happy!

Hi mate

The bolts are now in the post - should get them tomorrow (first class/recorded delivery).

I have ordered 2 centres from David Askew - second hand ones but should be fine. Two of mine were pretty knackered - the trident fell off one and on the other the folk of the trident had come off!

Received the 2 wheel centres for my 4200. Although they state they are for a 3200.

They look excellent - only they have a silver/chrome trident. The ones on my car are like a dull grey trident.

So which is right? I will have 2 on one side and 2 on the other so makes very little difference. Think I prefer the silver ones against the chrome bolts.

An anyone tell me how to get the wheel centres of safely without damaging my newly refurbed wheels????

Maybe contact him back to see if he can send you the correct ones.....OR...why not get a whole silver type set?

Pity to ruin it Mark!

Hi Mark,

Really glad Classics and Chrome did a good job on your bolts, and well done for the forum discount!

With regards to the centres, mine are silver with grey tridents. I haven't removed them myself, however I recall Loz posting that a cut down broom handle from the back works well. Gently 'tap' the broom with a mallet to pop them out. Maybe some wadding between broom and centre to take out the 'shock'.

Cheers, Miles.

Sounds like a good idea Miles. Is Lozs posting on this site?

The bolts are superb. They really are amazing when you get them
and compare them to the old ones. When they are they really do set the car off.

I hope the discount and ease of doing it means more owners on here follow our example! Thanks
again for your help with this.

Bumping again......as promised bolts done on time, posted on time too.....they looked good enough to lick but my wife reminded me that chrome is an extremely toxic substance and I resisted the temptation...:(

Let me know who wants them next, I am away next week for 11 days though!!!
