Sadly my training on the not so sober tour of Touquet with Fat Maf on the back for the outward leg on the wobbly hotel courtesy bike was not enough training for me to be a suitable volunteer.

The return stint was even harder since I had got to the point where I had even forgot I had locked the bike up in the centre of Touquet, and then trying to find the hotel, when it was a struggle for the peleton to find the restaurant earlier on in the evening.

Will be starting on the Turbo Trainer this week, trying to improve fitness & physique. Good Luck Matt & Drew - a top up on its way.

Matt & Urby are still planning to do it mate...

All sorted then phew! I last rode a shove iron about 18 years ago taking my middle lad to play group in a toddler seat on the back!

Crikey I almost rushed to find my old bone shaker and dust off the rust, pump up the cracked tyres and get working on the rock hard seat, good job the pressure is off, Matt would have had to push me for at least 899 miles..!!

When we did India, Rob got a bit hooked on the local produce and forgot the sunblock too:

First of all I'd like to thank you all for your tremendous support. I am gutted that I may not be able to do the ride especially after having put in so much work organizing it. My dad is desperately ill and unless he stabilizes dramatically I cannot take the risk of not being close in the event of an emergency. Drew you are a champion for stepping up to the plate. I have been looking forward to this ride for so long and I am desperate to do it if I can.

As always love you all

You and your family are in our thoughts, Peter.

Thanks mate .... You are a top man.........I would like to think he will bounce back from this but sadly I don't think that will be the case. If I lose him I have really lost my best friend

A massive thank you to Sean for his great donation. Sean, tell me, that amount you sent, was that for some sort of fundraising event?
