GTS getting closer

I think a dealer would replace if say 65% worn. The situation with consumables on these cars does come into consideration when comparing what's on the Market. By my reckoning buying a car with tyres/brakes/clutch all well on their way through the wear cycle can make a good couple of £k difference in 'value'.

Having said that I'm probably looking too much at the numbers - head will start asserting it's authority again soon!

It's actually different depending what dealership it is believe it or not! Stratstone always said 55% worn was time for a new clutch on a GS whereas Graypaul told me 75%. The experts at Autoshield say to do it when you can tell it needs it.

So basically....first sign of slip off you go.....................turns out the SD readings are more red herrings than anything else....a hinderance......truly not a help"!!!

Thanks Dan.

Glad I'm not buying new A's could easily get carried away with carbon goodies. My soon to be departed C4S is full of the stuff and looks gorgeous.

I'm probably leaning towards the darker interior - but will try and keep an open mind when I go and see them both again.

I should have mentioned that the one with the black alcantara I drove on my last visit. I didn't really pay it that much attention as I wasn't in full buying mode at that time.......

Personally I think the dual colour seats look great and at least the wear part of them is in black.

And if two were not enough to choose from..........

Two more GTS' have now appeared at Meridien.

First one may not be my taste but second, Nero car, could be considered. Exterior is going to have to be dark after a procession of silver and lighter grey cars I've had.

Really am now spoilt for choice + I've enquired after a Nero GTS at Dick Lovett - it's on SOR which often puts me off for some reason, but could be a runner.

One of them is my mates GTS, got £66k back for it on a purchase of a 430 Spyder. OK, he did not get £66k back for it, its all masked in the deal with the new car, more like £56-59k

Well phrased. The dealer can then truthfully say he paid £66k for it as the invoice will show it as such with no discount on the 430.

Indeed Bob, Ill tell you what, I have never learnt so much about cars since being involved in the Maserati marque. I can remove engine and gearboxes, beat the dealers at their own games and source parts cheaper than the dealer buys them for!

I am not being big headed, its just true, I have learnt so much and most of that is down to this forum and discussions and advice from you guys and gals

I think Matt...yourself and Loz....have taught us more than vice versa....long may it continue.....you might find yourself acting as a GT/S sourcer for the forum in the not too distant future!!!

For just a very small % mind you....:)

Matt, do you mind me asking which one is your mates? By all means PM me if you prefer.

Thanks

No problem he is called Adam, he does not post on here, I sort of grew up with him. I did create him an account Nads but he is not really into the forum side of things.

Sorry Matt, I meant which of the cars belonged to your friend!

Cheers

Go for an Auto. The MC is excellent for track and for a play but far too jerky for me .

Totally disagree with this, sorry. Whilst I appreciate it's a very subjective thing, the MC 'box in auto mode is far from jerky, in fact even in manual mode it's still as smooth as you like. The only time it's "jerky" is in SPORT when your foot is flat to the floor.
As for track work, it won't make any difference which 'box you have. It's a heavy GT car not a 'sports' car (as Maserati told me after some spirited driving).
But, as I said, it's subjective - buy which ever makes you smile the most, for me after the Auto the MC 'box was the only choice.

Nice P

As I've posted elsewhere it's the MC Shift for me having driven both. Have to agree with Dan, but wlling to admit that I was sceptical about smoothness........ until I'd driven one.
