Great cars, I had mine for three weeks and very pleased with it, not as quick as my last car (997Turbo) but has much more character and the sound is to die for............

Hello w5pwr...we've 'spoken' on PH so welcome to the forum.

You've done exactly as I did in coming from a 997 turbo to a GT-S (and bought a very similar looking GT-S!)...it'll be interesting to hear your views after a few weeks/months of ownership.

For me, I thought I'd miss the performance of the turbo but it hasn't been that way...I find the GT-S just about fast enough for my needs to make the drop in power unimportant. The looks and sound of the GT-S make up for most of what the turbo could offer.

The two things I do miss were a much better developed chassis and thumpingly good audio system in the Porsche...both of which I've gone some way to resolving in my car.

Paul -B (and BB if I've not said already)...both, also welcome to the forum!

Paul - the interior of the car you've gone for looks lovely...so many people go for black, black, black which means it can be hard finding something different unless you buy new and spec it yourself (particularly with German cars actuallY). In my experience you'll get such positive reactions to this interior as whilst most people shy away from actually spec'ing something with a bit of colour, they nearly always end up loving it!

I'm surprised that a main dealer would have a car in the condition you explained...I can't understand people who spend £100k+ on a car fro new and don't put any effort into looking after it...crazy!

Good to see you're having the wheels changed as it does currently have the 'wrong' wheels (for a GT-S)...the Neptunes are much better! Then again, who am I to talk...this time next week my car will also have the wrong wheels for a GT-S as my current ones have sold and my new MC Stradale wheels should be here next weekend. Wrong they may be but they're an inch wider (for better stance and the sole reason I'm buying them!), a few grams lighter and are from the next model 'up' in the range ;).....ahhh heck, who am I trying to convince - I just hope I like them!

Hi Palmball,

Agree about not missing the power at the moment, the 997T was so capable, its not until you sell it you realise how good they are.....

I wanted a different experience and the GT S certainly fits the bill, as I have said elsewhere I have spent a fortune over the years on exhausts and none of them come close to this car 'out of the box'!

The stereo is no match for the Bose system in the Porsche, but so far I have settled on this having my window open a little so I can hear the exhaust and the stereo is purely in the background. Eventually I may succumb to tinkering with i, but will leave it for the moment.

My original intention was to run the car for about 12 months, I am first on my local dealers books for the new M5 and they have invited me down to Goodwood next weekend to see it's UK public launch, at the moment I have got no intention of taking early delivery of one because I am enjoying the GT S so much!
