I think at 12mm thickness you're beginning to encroach on 'table mat' territory probably to avoid such mishaps. With the new mk2 thinner coasters I could possibly compliment with a set of full thickness table mats. What a fascinating thread this has turned out to beI agree, I have a chunky coaster about 12mm high next to my bed and many a time I have spilt a grass of water if I use a “highball” glass, half in half off then out of bed and mopping up the floor.
