I meant to say a more general point when I answered earlier:

These cars are simply machines made of metal & plastics, made and painted in factories. Sure, it's a pisser when someone damages them, but really it can be fixed, and life's too short to let it eat away at you.

Having owned several Alfa GTV's I quickly learnt that if you fart near them, they mark so from its been instilled for a while not to leave my cars anywhere and I am always the car parked all the way over on the other side of the car park on my own.

I read something similar a few years ago, a guy had been wronged, police weren't interested but he knew where he lived as it was a small village

The guy was obsessed with his perfectly manicured garden so at 3am he went round and hammered a bag of frozen sausages into his perfect bowling green standard front lawn.

Over the next few days every dog,fox and crow dug it to shreds

A colleague I used to work with did something similar, ish! On his way home one night he got cut up by another motorist forcing him to take avoiding action, he honked his horn to advise the other motorist only to get the finger and loads of further abuse at the next junction. Being a mild manner Yorkshireman he followed the offending motorist home but didn't stop just carried on his way.

That night he returned with a bottle of weedkiller and wrote the C word in industrial weed killer on his front lawn!

For the next 3 months he would purposefully go out of his way to see the state of the lawn, no matter what the owner did the word would reappear eventaully the only way to resolve the issue was to completely pull up his lawn and lay block paving :)

They are cars, with battle scars etc. from use. Not paintings to hang on a wall. As long as mine was reasonably clean, shiny from a distance, and most importantly went, I was happy.

In Milton Keynes if you park like that you will get a ticket, not sure what happens if you buy 2 parking tickets though but knowing the jobsworths that patrol you will still get a ticket as it clearly states that you must park between the lines
Does it say WHICH lines? ;)

Not that it will make you feel any better but i now find myself in the same boat. Seems either a neighbour or somebody on the school run decided to take some paint off mine. :(

That is not a dent. That is a crater! Mine isn't that bad. I have called in a mobile local repairer to come and have look and quote. Does Alloy repairs as well so lets see if we can get a couple of this done while we are at it.

This in spades.

I agree as much. However, I am sure a bit of consideration on part of fellow huma's for each other's belongings isn't going to make someone's day a bad one. That is what I hope(not expect) be it Asda, Lidl, Sainbury or Waitrose.

Having said that, the average showroom condition virginity of a car where I come from is about 30 minutes! (Delhi :)

Totally agree about respecting others' property. I confess, though, I am seriously less concerned what it looks like than the fact that when I turn the key it absolutely must start.

Having said that, I really must get mine washed. It's beginning to shed while driving.

I don't see how you'd ever get out of this unless it's in 2 spaces, that looks as wide as an artic with the doors open
