I started the GTS today for the first time in 7 weeks and it was all fine, well apart from a few warning lights, but they have all gone off now. Still get such a feeling when i hear that sound its like nothing else.

Thanks for the post Blu, just the type of info I was looking for, and would love to take a look around yours one day. Sounds like you have had a good experience with meridian so far and they are on my list dealers to buy from. What sort of age and miles did you buy. I am planning to buy in the spring to skip this years need for winter tyres, and I am going to try to stretch to a 2010 car with approximately 20k on the clock. Do you guys do meets that I could drive out to and take a look at your motors. If so I hope I wouldn't be lynched in the car park for turning up in a 911 :blushed:

When I started looking a couple of years ago I had an early GTS in mind but when popping into Meridien when passing "my" GTS was sat in there in the showroom. With a dose of suitable "man maths", much encouragement from my half Italian good lady and a summer sale! a deal was done and a brand new GTS sat on my drive, a decision I haven't regretted for one moment. Certainly in 2012 their was a glut of GTS due to over production so this certainly helped. I'm sure pretty tasty deals are still to be had out there.
As Matt has mentioned GTS's are becoming a bit more plentiful now so I'm sure you want have a problem finding one, just deciding on the colour/spec.
Not sure on the winter tyres, I've no experience of them on any car. I've just brought a set but yet to be fitted so we'll see over the next few months. If you have to buy tyres anyway (as I needed to) It wouldn't make much cost difference.
Good luck with your search c4sman
Cheers Blu

Interesting change of plan to end up in a new one. This is something I did consider for a while but it would mean giving up the 911 which I'm not quite ready to do. I really want to live with a GT for a while before deciding if I am ready to give up the more hardcore performance of a 911 Turbo, but in saying that, the idea of buying a new Sport is mighty appealing. I bought a brand new Porsche a few years ago and it's a great feeling to be the first owner, knowing that has never been thrashed from cold or ever abused. Probably too big a commitment for me at the moment to "go new" if I am to keep two "toys", tempting though....

Perhaps not the right place to ask, so please say if you would rather not say, but did you go for dealer finance, (deposit-monthly payment-balloon), or alternative approach (cash or otherwise)?

Hi c4sman. Dealer finance on new generally seems competitive but for used I'd go for non-dealer finance with as big a deposit as I could rustle up. I financed mine through an independent broker recommended by Nareman from Nuvola, where I bought mine. Really good deal, will PM you the details. Without it I'd not be in a GTS. That's got me wondering what I would be in...

Thanks AdamN, I assume something will pop up when I get a PM (I'm no expert on how they work!)

It won't be that exciting, I'm afraid. The "notifications" link on the top right of the page should go black. If you click on that it will take you to the message. I think.

Hi C4S, I think it was me who pointed you here from PH?
Just to let you know,Colchester Maserati are currently having an Ex-Demo sale at ( apparently) cost prices ,and also 50% down 50% in two years on new cars at 0% finance. Ask for Ryan on 01206 848558
Just a thought for your man maths!

Their cost is, unfortunately, not very different from the price you or I would pay. Apparently.
