Glad to see that this is a worldwide problem, I live in what is deemed a reasonably "soft" country for rusting and mine are naff!
Hoping the second set of wheels I am off to collect today have a full set of none rusting wheel nuts

On the subject of the rusty nuts, this is apparently the bête noir of the fraternity.
For nigh on seven years now I have struggled with this; replacing with Hill's refurbs is OK but not really the long term answer. Emblem have been great at helping and now have had a replacement set; regularly treated with WD40 (liberally sprayed) and the problem seems to be solved - no sign of a recurrence of the rust. here's hoping I have this little matter resolved.

Just received my set of new s/s wheel bolts - they look the business I have to say. Just need to find out from my local tyre guys how much they want to do a full swapperoo using their air hammers!

No Air Hammer Guns.
Slacken them by hand with a big bar.
Run them out and in with the aid of a power tool and then torque them correctly.

The man speaks truth. Really a DIY. May take about an hour, but worth it.

It's how us professionals do it.
Seen many a damaged thread over the years from abuse especially the brigade that have to tighten things up to within a thou of breaking.
Rant over I'm sounding like Benny :) without swearing.

Good god, no! But I do stand over them with a jack handle making sure they can use a torque wrench ;)

My problem is I hate paying somebody for something I can do myself , changing wheels can be a PITA with a scissor Jack but you wouldn't even need to jack the car up to change the bolts as long as you did them one at a time.

I'd be the guy kneeling at the side of the road changing a wheel rather than waiting for the AA as well( if I had a spare wheel)

That's actually a good point and something I hadn't thought of. Mind you, since my only torque wrench is for a carbon bike frame it's all rather moot anyway!

Tight is tight,I've never torqued a wheel bolt in my life and no wheels have fallen off, neither have I ever snapped a bolt, I've got one of those extending wheel braces, turning it un-extended when tightening gets them pretty tight

Problem with tight is right some people over tighten massively especially on small stuff when a lot of settings are 10 nm or less.

Looking at my download of the GS (US) manual in PDF downloaded onto my phone from www.Manualslib.com, it says (for the US GS) 98+/- 10 Nm for the "wheel studs". They may have the 3200 manual there as well.

Oh, and ETA - a Google suggests the same for the 3200..

and torque wrenches are fairly cheap - they cost about the same as fuel for 50-100miles..!
