Yeah, but you still ended up with white callipers, so a bit of a disaster, really.
I chose to change them to white, because I knew it was the right thing to do

That was self inflicted. He had a spare radiator enamel rattle can.Yeah, but you still ended up with white callipers, so a bit of a disaster, really.

You'd not go far wrong with any of them.... having a decent dealer was worth it. I would have used Richard, Nuvola or ADG at that point.
Fair points Tim. We don't all see the same thing, when we look at something. And the conjecture, or educated guesses are entirely superfluous. As to my generalisation about the area. That is entirely true. If I had several days, I could give you chapter and verse going back thirty odd years. But again, its a moot point now.If they return the monies, and take the car back..no harm, no foul. Maybe they will learn from the lesson and go on to develop a decent business....
I'm not going to make assumptions based on the way they look, theri age, or the over selling hype of their "aspirational" web site...
Neither am I going to speculate as to how or why they came to be owing this car....It is conjecture. As to the generalisations about the area..FFS Get a grip man !
Its a simple reject- start again. All good....
On AutoTrader there are 5 with much lower mileage, a few thousand more. Personally I would go for a lower mileage car with as few owners as possible and service history. Take as much risk out of the purchase as you can over getting the exact spec you want.
....
Couldn't find a 4.7 under 28k on AutoTrader unless very high mileage (>85k)All hugely overpriced in my opinion. He’s looking to spend £20k, if spending >£25k surely a 4.7 is the aim.

Maybe you should cheer yourself up with a set of these..?!!>!!?I've bought cars with 1 owner from new, full porsche service history and still cost me mega bucks.
Agreed and that is why I got the Strad at a super low price because at 56k it was about to implode..I agree that few owners and good service history are very important. Care and wear matter. But I don't worry much about mileage; over about 50k miles, everything will need replacing eventually, it's just a matter of time.
Spec is more important than miles. I would be happy with a nice 2012 cream and wood interior QPV GT S with 100,000 miles.
I think you mean patience mate...!
I'm sure, but it's about probabilities...you try to play them, certainly if you buy unseen. So less owners, lower mileage, known history bring down the odds but of course nothing is 100% just like with the jab (piece of advice-don't go there....)I've bought cars with 1 owner from new, full porsche service history and still cost me mega bucks.
No there aren’t any. There are a lot slightly dearer that have been advertised for over 12 months though.
My point was that the OP was looking for a £20k GT, not one at £25k or so. As this thread has proved, buying a £20k GT in the current market is risky business. A year ago the budget gave you the pick of them.
My post wasn't about not buying unseen, it was about bringing down the risk WHEN you buy unseen but if you don't mind returning a few lemons until you hit the jackpot that's another story...just seems like a waste of time to me but to each his ownHow much better would someone do viewing a car in person?
No 14 day protection.
Rose tinted specs.
I'd say you're more likely to end up in a pickle, yet the difference might be, people not communicating it clearly.
The 14days is or should be very helpful if things go wrong but in the grand scheme of things the general consumer protection legislation still favours the consumer and I would think viewing a car and getting inspected is most likely to be the most reliable route. How much better would someone do viewing a car in person?
