Just watched some other videos uploaded to YouTube from Brunty. It hadn't occurred to me that there would be people who would go to the event, and treat it like a free track day, just driving lap after lap without picking up any passengers, all recorded as a single continuous session, then parking up again in the carpark. I'm even more astonished that they would tag the video as being at the OYM charity day, and upload their complete selfish lack of charity for all to see!

Here you go:

From the carpark, session of laps, back to the carpark, never went near a passenger. It's NOT the car in the thumbnail...

That is why they need to check lanyards. Perhaps a sticker is required on the windscreen to stop this from happening.

I have to say his excuse was impressive. I didn't want to queue up for a lanyard so I didn't bother. Epic!

I am shocked that somebody could be so low as to personally benefit from a massive charity event. I'm absolutely sickened to see this.

The guy driving the white V10 Audi R8 also took his girlfriend out for a few continuous laps. I didn't really think about it at the time, but it's much the same thing. Every year when I or any of my family have been taken out in the SM cars I've bunged a fistful of cash into our pot.

Same as me, if the car was waiting in the gate, the family came in and we bunged some cash in the pot. The only other laps I went out in on the day were one in Morebeans and one in Newton's!

Yep. We all do a couple of laps. I did one with Newton. Rachel did one or two. We probably owe more, but even Dan chipped in.

Same here. Both of us put some cash in the pot for the laps we did, even the sighting laps. On top of that, every driver there at the end of the day topped up the pot a bit to round it up.

I've just read the excuses!

I'm stunned that someone can just turn up and drive, no control, no briefing, no sighting laps, probably no idea what the circuit is, or that there will be trucks merging... nothing. It's dangerous as well as selfish/stupid.

I agree with you Hoyin and Andy - there needs to be stickers on the windscreens. That's extremely cheap to organise, and of course would only be distributed to the team leads at the morning briefing. The more I think about it, the more astonished I am that it hasn't been done before. Cars without stickers can easily be seen and held at the pit exit, just as they hold cars for the trucks.
