Yeah, I reckon so. The spread on Cali 30s, the last and best of the n/a models, is from 80 to 115, and the highest of those has been on the market for a good year already. You couldn't get one for less than 110k a year ago, and the Ts were all north of 150. Even with a deal to be had on an older n/a model, I couldn't bear to hand over any money if I could see the green one with just 5 or 10k more on the windscreen.

Given 'our' racing colour was green I do find it bizarre so many people are adverse to them.

Peter, if you are not bothered about wind in your hair motoring, in your shoes I would keep the GS and buy a QPV 4.7S or GTS. To me that represents a pretty prefect combination of Maseratis from that era, the QP giving you that much more comfortable effortless touring car with lots of space that can still tackle a mountain round with pretty much as much aplomb as a GT, and the GS for those days when you want something smaller, nimbler and a little more hardcore. If you want topless motoring, same answer but swap the GS for a Spyder.....

I’ve just been for a drive in this and it made my think of your predicament

Have driven Phils car in the same colour... its lovely and certainly a proposition I toyed with on top of the GS.

Still keep looking at them. There's one just up the road at silly *silly* money (not a GTS but...)

Best answer based on latest thinking.
That QP is gorgeous and in my favourite colour. As said, pure class.

That CaliT is starting to get into my head.

Tell me about where the residuals are heading?
YOu can get some crazy good finance deals / residuals on Cali T’s matt. The prices have dumped in the last few weeks- there are some jaw dropping deals to be had. You only have to look at the older high mileage cars- I think Cali Ts will hold their money ok with average to low miles. The balloons on them are great too which makes monthlies low if needed. I really would like to get another - but my wife is saying they are too small in the back so I have had to go for a different marque. Lots of carbon and black as usual. You can’t go wrong with 565hp, open top driving , endless torque and a yellow horse IMHO. Real deals to be had at the moment- they seem to be desperate to move them. I reckon you could get a low mileage Cali T for 105 now which would be unheard of last year.

£65k won’t sit you in a nice F430 especially if you want a 2007+ model... but a high mileage or incomplete service history car. I wouldn’t buy a pre 2007 as resale will be harder (no ceramic brakes, older model F1pumps etc...) It will however get you a 40k miles manual 360 - which is a great car (one of my best friend has one, and I like it almost as much as my 430)

I also believe whoever said an MC strad beats a 430 everywhere except on twisties has never driven an F430. The strad will get destroyed pretty much all segments... except on road trip with a family of 4 w luggage. Without even having to drive both (and I did) - just have a read at tech specs. That alone settles it.

Well sorted F430 are not more expensive to maintain than recent Maserati (I have also owned a GT). Buy a well sorted 2007+ f430 and maintain it well, it will be similar. Only difference is annual service vs bi annual for Maserati’s- but we all know the cost of ownership is really defined by the cost of somethg going wrong on those cars. And from that aspect it’s not different or more/less expensive.

I would also say that no italian car likes to stay idled/unused in a garage for 12months a year and not be driven much because the owner is scared of putting miles on.
If that defines how your ownership of a Ferrari is likely to be - then don’t buy it and stick to a car that you will enjoy driving guilt and worry free
