Yes a Beocom2 (banana) landline. Our mobile network signal is terrible here so it’s great to have a backup landline for us (Colour coordinated of course) ;)

Bebs, this may seem a silly question.
Do you inhale these?
I’m led to believe you shouldn’t with a cigar?

Glad you asked this. I was thinking the same. Sure I smoked some cigars when I was much younger, but wouldn’t have known how to smoke them. I imagine it’s an art which takes years to master, like heel and toeing and hand brake turns?

Good question. No, you do not inhale. You taste the flavours of the smoke and blow it out.
so technically, it is not smoking! ;)

That’s my excuse and justification Brian, and I’m sticking to it religiously. Cohiba Siglo II last night to say goodbye to the GC

That was my understanding and from my attempts to smoke cigars in the past.
I seem to remember ciggy smokers attempting to inhale and struggling badly!

I can't smoke cigars anymore because of this reason. I just can't seem to not inhale from years of shisha smoking. Even when I was younger I could inhale cigars fine but not since stopping smoking years back.

I’ve spotted a gap in the market.
Vapecigars......
All the best varieties, in a bottle....or whatever it is.
Then we can sell them to ciggy and shisha smokers too!

It’s the future, who’s in?

I know you are not supposed to inhale but I do still enjoy taking down a (very) small amount .... but generally only at the start of a smoke and not with anything too strong.

I remember my first Cohiba Esplendido (Castro's favourite) about 30 years ago (when I still smoked cigarettes) and nearly puking when I took a full lungful.

@Bebs, as I mentioned previously I am an occasion cigar smoker, however, as they are few and far between at the minute I am starting to get the desire to spend a little lockdown time sampling to find my actual occasion tastes in readiness rather than accept that my Uncle's love of Churchills is OK....

To that end I am looking at dipping my toe, a starter pack if you like of various styles and this is where my head is at for phase 1

Best of Both Worlds Cigar Sampler (simplycigars.co.uk)

anything there offensive or "avoid" ?

Apologies for the delay. That actually looks like a very decent selection of Havanas. Excellent choice! Some of my personal favorites amongst that lot.

Thanks Bebs, no red flags so into the cart they will go along with a cutter and a basic humidor. Delivery seems decent, if I order tomorrow I will get them Wednesday so that will line up nicely for a weekend treat alongside a few drams from a bottle of Balvenie that has been taunting me since Christmas.

Sounds perfect to me. Will look forward to pics, updates and thoughts as you get through them. They are all top drawer Havanas and quite powerful compared to an ‘average smoke’. The Romeo y Julietas will be the least powerful so start with one of those.
Well done!
