the garage is Maserati only indi and also one that was recommended by a few on here.... so if you trust worthly lot recommended this place, then this must be a good indi....right

just heard that the rest of the car is in great condition, so luckly its just this

would the car be worth more thank normal with a replacement gearbox, clutch and flywheel or would this put people off / money lost. if I sold it in the current condition not sure I would get much for it

Who's it with?

Does anyone have a guide on how to check the gearbox oil level?

I'm not going to make any assumptions despite the recent new clutch, so would like to know how/where to check.

You'd think so. According to my manual there is warning light for "low cambiocorsa gearbox oil level" and another for "cambiocorsa gearbox failure" (for when the gearbox fails or when the gearbox oil id too hot).

I wonder whether there was a failure with the warning light as well?

Only from memory, but I seem to remember you take a level from dipping in the filler hole, which is a pig to get to, but I could be wrong..!!

Checked the manual: it says see page 220.. which says take it to a dealer. Er.. thanks, Maserati.

I have been trying to copy the m file from the manual but it won't let me. The g/box filler cap is on the top of the G/box. There is a level pipe PN 900026350 I think it is, this gives you a marker on the pipe when insterted in the filler neck. Or go to an indie..!!

0.5 instead of 2.8 liters, not good.
Yes we need to know how to check it!!!
Although unless it was that low when you bought it, you would notice a leak of 2.3 liters on your drive/garage floor so it sounds like it has been low for a while, possibly before your ownership.
Is this a check point during a service?
Is it a check point during a PPI?

Very roughly, take off the filler cap, to outside edge of filler neck insert a stiff plastic, or thin metal rod / tube, that has to go to the overall height of the total g/box tank (top to bottom). The oil level should be just about half way up the tube, or a half full g/box tank..!! The Tank is in the middle of all the hoses going around the g/box..!!
