Ok, I may not be picking the car up until Sunday. But, already my mind has begun to focus on the really important stuff. Such as exhaust sound.
I experimented briefly with Larini back boxes on my 4200. However, the in-cabin resonance at the 2,000 to 3,500 rev. range really was too jarring for my liking, so I moved them on. I am wondering whether the QP is more accommodating? I don't want too harsh a sound as the car will mostly be used for long, cross country and continental journeys. No, what I want - need - is a deep, rasping bark under acceleration accompanied by a mellow burbling at motorway and pootling speeds.
Would a straight through centre section do the job? Are QP Larini back boxes any different in their sound characteristics? I assume that they would be identical in manufacture to the 4200 ones. Do other manufacturers have something that would de the job? What would you fit to yours?
